FRC Overview

FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®), the ‘varsity’ level of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) competition. For details on the FRC program overall, visit http://www3.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc.

WESTA-sponsored FIRST Team 2468, Team Appreciate, is from Westlake High School (Austin, Travis County, Texas) in the Eanes Independent School District.

Comprised of high-school seniors, juniors, and select sophomore students that possess exceptional previous experience in robotics competition, Team Appreciate has grown to be one of the best FRC teams in Texas. Beginning with its inaugural 2008 FRC season, the team has a history of success across seasons. It believes strongly in FIRST ethics, including Gracious Professionalism™ and Coopertition™, adhering to both throughout all its activities. The team is always open to requests for help from other robotics programs, both in the Austin area and elsewhere. It has already assisted with robotics efforts in South Africa, South Korea, and many other locations. Moreover, it is well-known for providing help to other teams at every competition it attends.

This is a student-driven team, but it cannot succeed without the help of both its adult mentors and without adequate financial support. WESTA is responsible for providing 95%* of the funds needed for the team to function and continue offering the excellent opportunities for inspiration and growth to its student participants.

Team Appreciate maintains its own website at chaprobotics.com, where you can find details on the team’s many awards and outreach efforts.
