STEMConnect Background:

In 2014, Westlake team FRC2468 partnered with Freescale to offer a week-long robotics learning conference to the children of their employees at their corporate facility. The session was a huge success and all 75 spots were filled within days.
In our second year, we created a new partnership with Breakthrough Austin. Breakthrough is a non-profit organization that offers out-of-school learning opportunities to students in low-income communities who will be the first in their family to graduate from college. Freescale agreed to host at their facility and donate the registration fees so we could teach this camp at no cost to Breakthrough. Qualcomm hosted our 4th STEMConnect session with Breakthrough, and we have slots at Intel, NXP, Cirrus Logic, Qualcomm and Eanes ISD. We reached over 400 students this past summer with our STEMConnect camps.
